(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, JAN 7 - An agreement between the Italian
government and Elon Musk's SpaceX for the use of the Starlink
satellite communications system would be compatible with
participation in the Iris² project, the European Union's
satellite internet constellation, a European Commission
spokesperson told ANSA on Tuesday.
"An EU regulation establishes the Iris² system and is therefore
applicable throughout the EU," the spokesperson said.
"Italy, as a sovereign state, has full discretionary power to
proceed with sovereign decisions and actions". (ANSA).
