(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 10 - In November 2024, the seasonally
adjusted index for Italian retail sales decreased by 0.4% in
value terms and by 0.
On a year-on-year basis, the value of retail trade rose by 1.1%,
while volume slightly dropped by 0.2%.
In November 2024, large-scale distribution registered a 3.8%
year-on-year growth, small-scale distribution decreased by 0.9%,
and non-store retail sales declined by 3.9%, the national
statistics institute reported.
Online sales fell by 3.3% compared to November 2023.
The annual sale of food products grew by 2.8% in value and
dropped by 0.2% in volume, the institute reported.
Within the non-food product category, year-on-year performance
showed mixed results, ISTAT said.
The largest growth was registered for cosmetic and toiletry
products, which increased by 4.1%, while the most significant
decreases were recorded in the computer and telecommunications
categories, which fell by 2.8%; sales of shoes, leather goods
and travel items dropped by 2.7%, ISTAT said. (ANSA).
