(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 10 - The new Syrian leader Ahmed Al
Sharaa, known by the name of Abu Mohammad al-Jolani, has pledged
to stop "illegal immigration", Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani
said in Beirut Friday.
Tajani, who is also deputy premier, had talks in Damascus
earlier focusing on inclusivity and how Italy could be a bridge
between Europe and the new Syria, as well as the possibility of
lifting western sanctions on the Middle Eastern nation.
