(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 10 - Ukrainain forces have captured an
Italian pizza chef recruited by Moscow to serve in the Russian
army invading its neighbour, Today.it reported Friday.
The man, originally from Campania, who volunteered in the
Russian army, was captured by Ukrainian special forces in
Donbass in recent days, the online newspaper said.
According to Today.it, the man is called Gianni Cenni, he is 51
years old, married with two children, and, according to the
military record issued to him by the Russian Ministry of Defense
and another document, he was recruited as a volunteer on
November 13, 2024 to fight in Ukraine, where he was captured
between January 7 and 8 in the area of ;;Kupyansk, in the
Lugansk region, in a Ukrainian operation behind enemy lines.
Today.it writes: "Thanks to work by Osint (open source
intelligence) it was possible to trace his recent work activity
in Russia, in the town of Samara, capital of the region of the
same name on the Volga River, where he always worked as a pizza
chef in the Italian restaurant 'Anima'". (ANSA).
