(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 13 - Defending champion Jannik Sinner on
Monday beat Chile's Nicolas Jarry in straight sets to progress
at the Australian Open.
The world number defeated Jarry 7-6, 7-6, 6-1.
Monday marked Sinner's 15th consecutive major win on hard courts
as he became the fourth player since 2000 to win as many Grand
Slam hard-court matches in a row, joining Andre Agassi, Roger
Federer and Novak Djokovic.
His last major defeat was in Beijing on October 2 when he lost a
match in three sets against Carlos Alcaraz. (ANSA).
