Italian inflation stable at 1.3% in December - Istat

(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 16 - Istat said Thursday that Italy's annual inflation rate was 1.3% in December, steady with respect to November, confirming its preliminary estimate.
    The national statistics agency said its consumer price index rose by 0.1% in December with respect to November.
    It also confirmed that the average inflation rate in 2024 was 1.0%, down from 5.7% in 2023.
    It said core inflation, excluding energy and unprocessed food, was +2.0% (down from +5.1% in 2023) and inflation excluding energy was +2.1% (+5.3% in 2023). (ANSA).
