Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 30 - Luisa Morgantini, 84, former vice president of the European Parliament and well-known Italian activist, and the journalist of Il Sole 24ore Roberto Bongiorni, arrested this morning in Tuba (south of Hebron) because they allegedly entered a "military zone", have been released by the Israeli police.
Both were taken to the police station in the Kiryat Arba colony and were then released thanks to the intervention of the Italian embassy in Tel Aviv and the Consulate in Jerusalem, the Farnesina in Rome reported.
Morgantini, a member of the small leftist Communist Refoundation party, is a leading member of the Italian peace movement and was one of the founders of the Italian branch of the Women in Black anti-war organisation. (ANSA).
