Pro-Russian hackers attack transport, banking sectors

Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 17 - A pro-Russian hacker group, NoName057(16), on Monday launched a series of cyberattacks on Italian bank and transport sector websites, linking the move to President Sergio Mattarella recently comparing Russia to the Third Reich in relation to its invasion of Ukraine. The group called Mattarella "Russophobic" after it launched a new series of DDoS (distributed denial of service) attacks against the websites of Italian entities, including Milan's Linate and Malpensa airports, the Taranto and Trieste port authorities and the Intesa San Paolo bank.
The attacks did not initially have any impact on the services provided and the National Cybersecurity Agency started the support and mitigation work with the entities affected.
