Pope's pneumonia under control, but not eliminated

(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 19 - Pope Francis's pneumonia is under control, but not eliminated, the Vatican said Wednesday.
The bilateral pneumonia the pope is suffering from is currently "under control", but it cannot be said that it has been eliminated.
As is the other infection he is suffering from, the polymicrobial one, the Vatican Press Office reported on the 34th day of the Pontiff's hospitalization at the Policlinico Agostino Gemelli Hospital in Rome.
It is emphasized that the clinical tests, such as those of the blood, are normal and stable and that the Pope remains fever-free.
And the suspension of non-invasive mechanical ventilation during the night is also considered a positive aspect.
Among the encouraging elements, the fact that there is no leukocytosis, that is, an abnormal growth of white blood cells.
Given the situation, a new medical bulletin should not be released before next week. (ANSA).
