Only peacekeeping option in Ukraine is under the UN-Tajani

(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 21 - The only peacekeeping option in Ukraine is under the United Nations, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said Friday.
    "It seems premature to me to talk about peacekeeping operations in Ukraine," said Tajani, who is also deputy premier, on the sidelines of the presentation of a new Action Plan for the acceleration of exports.
    "Now we encourage the process that has begun for peace which I think is going in the right direction.
    "We are still in the pre-negotiation phase.
    "We have said that we are not in favor of sending Italians on military missions under the NATO flag or under the flag of the European Union.
    "The only option could be that of the United Nations, but there must be a decision by the Security Council". (ANSA).
