Tajani says don't feel in difficulty, voters will judge

Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 23 - Foreign Minister and centre-right Forza Italia (FI) leader Antonio Tajani on Sunday replied to rightwing League No 2 and Labour Undersecretary Claudio Durigon's contention that he was "in difficulty over foreign policy" saying "I don't feel in difficulty and it will be the voters who will judge" the success or otherwise of his actions.
Durigon said in an interview with left-leaning daily la Repubbica Sunday that Tajani was in difficulty due to his support for the ReArm Europe defence spending plan and over League leader Matteo Salvini's invitation from US Vice President J. D. Vance, and "he needs someone to help him".
Tajani, who is also deputy premier, replied: "Everyone needs help, even me. But I don't feel in difficulty, the voters will judge".
Centre-left opposition Democratic Party (PD) leader Elly Schlein said "the League has voted no confidence in Tajani and the government is no longer standing on its feet". (ANSA).
