(ANSA) - Milan, September 28 -UniCredit, Italy's biggest
bank by assets, will present the outcome of a strategic review
announced on July 11 at a Capital Market Day on December 13 in
London, according to a statement.
UniCredit's chief executive Jean Pierre Mustier said after
his appointment in July that he intended to implement a new
strategic plan affecting all of the bank's main areas with the
aim of ''strengthening and optimizing capital provision,
improving profitability, guaranteeing the evolution of business
activities and taking advantage of opportunities''.
One of Mustier's first measures as new chief executive was
to sell 10% of Fineco Bank in July.
Italian banks, struggling with capital shortfalls and
non-performing loans after a long recession, have become a focus
of investor concern in Europe.
A number of dossiers are now on UniCredit's agenda,
including asset manager Pioneer and Polish subsidiary Bank
Pekao, as well as non-performing loans.
