Inflation down to 1.4% in March (2)

(ANSA) - Rome, April 13 - Inflation fell to 1.4% in March after four straight monthly gains, ISTAT said Thursday, confirming its preliminary estimates. The consumer price index was steady on the month and 1.4% up on March 2016, the statistics office said. In February the year-on-year rise was 1.6%, the highest in six years. The so-called 'inflation trolley' of most frequently bought goods was 0.9% down on February and 2.3% up on the same month in 2016.
