(ANSA) - Rome, October 24 - The Italian antitrust authority
said Wednesday that it had fined Samsung five million euros and
Apple 10 million euros for the alleged planned obsolescence of
devices.
The authority said the companies were guilty of improper
trading practices over firmware updates that reduced the
performance of cell phones and caused serious malfunctions, so
users would be forced to replace them.
