(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 15 - Italian aerospace giant Leonardo on
Wednesday signed up for the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP)
with the UK and Japan to build a sixth-generation fighter
aircraft.
Leonardo and Elettronica for Italy, Leonardo UK for the UK, and
Mitsubishi Electric representing Japan, signed the deal at the
DSEI Japan show for a "collaboration agreement between
international industrial partners in advanced electronics for
the Global Combat Air Programme," the Italian company said.
"The teams," a statement said, "will collaborate to shape the
ISANKE & ICS domain, the advanced electronics aboard the GCAP
platform that will provide the aircraft crew with an advanced
level of information superiority and self-protection
capabilities." (ANSA).
