(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 21 - UzA and ANSA have signed a
cooperation agreement enabling the partners to utilize each
others' news services for editorial use and develop joint
commercial offers to support the communication of institutions
and businesses in the respective countries.
The agreement was signed via a video link between the two
agencies' headquarters in the presence of Italian Ambassador to
Uzbekistan Agostino Pinna and Uzbekistan Ambassador to Italy
Otabek Akbarov.
"Relations between Italy and Uzbekistan have developed in a
major way in recent years, culminating with Uzbek President
Mirziyoyev's recent visit to Italy (June 7-9)," said Ambassador
Pinna.
"On that occasion the two countries agreed on the creation of a
multi-sector Strategic Partnership, which will lead to an
increase in joint activities and initiatives.
"Today's agreement between ANSA and UzA is a very important part
of that framework and it will enable the public to have better
awareness of the various projects being carried out.
"I thank ANSA for having reached this agreement, which opens up
new prospects in the media sphere with Uzbekistan".
Uzbekistan Ambassador to Italy Otabek Akbarov also expressed
satisfaction at the agreement.
"I welcome the establishment of direct cooperation between the
main news agency of Uzbekistan, UzA, and ANSA," Ambassador
Akbarov said.
"We have seen growing reciprocal interest in our two countries
in recent years, ranging from institutional to economic and
cultural areas.
"I think that this collaboration will help our peoples to know
more about the unique historic heritage of Uzbekistan and
Italia, the current life and development priorities and the main
domestic and foreign events of our two countries.
"It will also contribute to better knowledge of the great trade
cooperation opportunities for businesses, agencies and banks.
"This relationship between UzA and ANSA is totally consistent
with the goals set by the Uzbekistan and Italy Strategic
Partnership on June 8 during Uzbekistan President Shavkat
Mirziyoyev's official visit to Italy".
UzA Director General Abdusait Kuchimov said that: "strengthening
relations with the media on the global scale is a strategic task
for UzA - that is why we agreed to sign this agreement with
ANSA.
"We are actively exchanging information with the main news
agencies in every region and the partnership with ANSA creates
the foundations for the study of the activities of the whole
region and for a rapid exchange of information with Europe," he
continued.
"We are making an effort to prepare and to exchange news to
improve inter-regional, inter-state and international relations.
"ANSA is UzA's first news partner in Western Europe. So we can
say that it is an important historic event".
ANSA Chief Executive Stefano De Alessandri stressed that: "this
partnership is a another piece of our strategy of international
networking with the top news agencies all over the world and it
will contribute to increasing reciprocal knowledge in Italy and
Uzbekistan.
"Furthermore, the agreement that has been reached will make it
possible to develop interesting commercial agreements in the
respective counties, while our subscribers will be able to have
access to an even more complete, widespread service," De
Alessandri concluded. (ANSA).
