Salvini glad at strike reduction, good sense prevailed

(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 15 - Deputy Premier and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini on Wednesday said he was satisfied with the CGIL and UL trade unions' reduction of Friday's transport sector strike from eight hours to four and said that "good sense has prevailed".
    After he issued injunctions against the original strike, he said "good sense, workers and citizens have won.
    "The right to strike is not called into question".
    CGIL trade union general secretary Maurizio Landini said Wednesday he and UIL general secretary Pierpaolo Bombardieri had decided to reduce a transport strike which is part of a 24-hour general strike Friday to just four hours out of a sense of responsibility to workers who might face penalties for arriving at work late.
    For the transport sector, Landini said, the strike on Friday is reduced from 8 to 4 hours, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., also as a consequence of Salvini's injunctions against the stoppage.
