(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 1 - Italy's unemployment rate was stable
at 7.2% in January, but the jobless rate for under-25s who are
active on the labour market rose by 0.
The national statistics agency said the number of unemployed
people in Italy fell by 4,000 on December, dropping to
1,838,000.
The proportion of working-age people who are not active on the
labour market increased by 0.2 of a point to 33.3%, following a
61,000 rise in the number of the 'inactive', Istat said.
The agency said the employment rate had fallen by 0.1 of a point
to 61.8%.
It said the number of people in employment was down by 34,000 in
January with respect to December but up by 362,000 compared to
the same month in 2023. (ANSA).
