(ANSA) - ROME, APR 12 - Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti
on Friday said the European Union should consider extending the
deadline of the post-COVID National Recovery and Resilience Plan
(NRRP) beyond its current date of 2026, despite official
resistance to this idea.
"I personally reiterated that perhaps evaluating, without
obviously changing the amount of resources available, a possible
extension could be useful," Giorgetti said in Luxembourg on the
sidelines of the Council of Economy Ministers.
"I see that the Poles have also made the same point.
"We know perfectly well that there is no willingness today to
consider this.
"We will talk about it again in a year, as in other situations,
the Italian positions at first seem isolated or out of place,
but in the end they are much more realistic than other
approaches". (ANSA).
