(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 15 - The purchasing power of wages in
Italy decreased by 4.5% between 2013 and 2023, Istat said in its
annual report on Wednesday.
The national statistics agency said purchasing power had
increased in the same period in the other major EU economies,
with a 1.1% rise in France and 5.7% increase in Germany.
"Despite the improvements observed in the labour market in
recent years," the report said, referring to an increase in the
number of people in work, "Italy retains a very high share high
share of employed people in economically vulnerable conditions".
