(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 4 - Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares said
Tuesday the US-Franco-Italian carmaker could guarantee full
levels of operations at all its Italian factories after recent
temporary lay-offs at some of them and amid fears it might be
moving production elsewhere in the face of Chinese competition.
"In Italy we have had excellent discussions in recent weeks," he
said on a visit to the Melfi plant.
"With the trade unions, the dialogue has been constructive and
productive in a spirit of mutual respect.
"I was asked to indicate the prospects of the Italian plants to
2030, we went even further. We have guaranteed that there will
be full operations for everyone, there is no problem.
"I want to express appreciation, they are mature and responsible
people," he added about the unions. (ANSA).
