(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 13 - Istat said Thursday that the number
of people in employment in Italy increased by 75,000 in the
first quarter of 2024 with respect to the previous three months
and by 394,000 compared to the first quarter of last year.
The national statistics agency said the rise took the employment
rate up by 0.1 of a percentage point compared to the previous
quarter to 62.0%.
It said that the unemployment rate had fallen to 7.2%, down 0.2
of a percentage point, while the inactivity rate for people aged
15 to 64 had risen to 33.1%, up 0.1 of a point. (ANSA).
