House-market sales down 7.2% in Q1 year-on-year

(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 21 - Istat said Friday that the number of residential properties sold in the first quarter of 2024 was down by 7.2% with respect to the equivalent period last year.
    The national statistics agency said this comes after a 3.3% year-on-year drop in the last quarter of 2023.
    Despite the drop in the number of sales, Istat said that its house-price index (IPAB) was up by 1.7% in the first quarter in year-on-year terms.
    It said house prices were down by 0.1% compared to the fourth quarter of 2023. (ANSA).
