(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 5 - Istat said Friday that Italian retail
sales were up by 0.4% in May in both year-on-year and
month-on-month terms.
The national statistics agency added that, in volume terms,
retail sales increased by 0.2% with respect to April but were
down by 0.8 compared to May 2023.
"In a year-on-year comparison for May 2024, large-scale
distribution grew by 0.9%, small-scale distribution rose by
0.2%, and non-store retail sales fell by 1.6%," Istat said.
"After growing in April, online sales declined in May 2024,
showing a contraction of 1.4% compared to May 2023". (ANSA).
