(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 16 - The 900 million euro increase the
government has earmarked for the health service in the 2025
budget is "wholly insufficient", health research group GIMBE
said Wednesday.
"The increase of only 900 million euros for 2025 is completely
insufficient to address the urgent needs of a red-code NHS, as
well as to support the reforms that have been launched, in
particular the one on waiting lists", GIMBE President Nino
Cartabellotta told ANSA.
"Despite (Health) Minister (Orazio) Schillaci's commendable
commitment to increasing funding for public health, the data
that emerged from the press conference on the 2025 Budget Law
clearly show that the Ministry of Health can now be considered
'without portfolio'", he said. (ANSA).
