(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 29 - Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr said
Tuesday that the German carrier expects to be able to start
working with ITA Airways early next year after the European
Commission gives final approval to the merger between the
companies.
In July the Commission said it had given the green light to the
operation pending the fulfilment of some conditions, including
the cession of some slots at Milan's Linate airport.
"I think that we'll be able to start our cooperation at the
start of 2025, more or less," Spohr told a conference call on
Lufthansa's quarterly results.
He recalled that November 4 is the deadline for the companies to
hand in the documentation on the fulfilment of the requirements
to the Commission, which will then have to analyse the material.
