(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 3 - Stellantis on Monday said it was simplifying its organization and speeding up processes, giving a more significant role to regions which will have more decisional and executive power at a local level as the automaker presses ahead with a reorganisation it started after former CEO Carlos Tavares resigned and John Elkann took the helm of the Interim Executive Committee on December 2.
Under the plan, Stellantis has placed its software and engineering activities under Chief Technology Officer Ned Curic, "streamlining the process of bringing to market innovative products and services for all the brands in all the markets where the Company operates", the carmaker said in a statement.
The head of North American operations Antonio Filosa has taken on the additional leadership of the Quality department while Bob Broderdorf will head the Jeep brand.
Alain Favey was appointed as head of the group's Peugeot brand.
Stellantis Chairman John Elkann commented on the new organization saying that "today's announcements will further simplify our organization and increase our local agility and rigor of execution.
"We look forward to driving growth by providing our customers with an even larger choice of great combustion, hybrid and electric vehicles", Elkann was quoted as saying in the statement.
As announced in early December 2024, the process to appoint the new permanent Chief Executive Officer is well under way, managed by a Special Committee of the Board of Directors, and will be completed within the first half of 2025, the company said.
