(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 22 - The prices of Italian Easter eggs are up by at least 30% this year amid a surge in world cocoa prices and the ongoing butter crisis, consumer group CODACONS said Saturday.
The price of novelty eggs for children is up by 33% and high-range top quality chocolate eggs cost up to 40% more this year, it said.
Italy's traditional colomba or Easter dove of peace cakes are seeing price hikes of around 22%, CODACONS said, because of the butter price surge. (ANSA).
