(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 29 - The Vatican Bank has asked defendants
in a trial into mismanagement of funds to pay back some 206
euros in allegedly embezzled, misspent or wasted cash.
The request includes Cardinal Angelo Becciu, the highest
Catholic cleric to be accused of financial crimes, and a luxury
property on Sloane Avenue in London.
The Institute for Religious Works (IOR) also requested damages
of 177 million euros. (ANSA).
