(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 30 - Authorising the use of NATO-supplied
weapons by Ukraine in Russian territory would spell an
"uncontrollable escalation" of the conflict, Vatican Secretary
of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin said Thursday.
"I think this possibility must worry all those who have the fate
of our world at heart," he said.
"This could entail an escalation that no one will be able to
control any longer. It's a very disquieting prospect".
Parolini went on: "We are working on the humanitarian level,
above all on the question of the return of Ukrainian children to
their homeland, a mechanism which has been launched with
Cardinal (Matteo) Zupp's visit to Kyiv and Moscow which is
bearing fruit. There is no other room".

Conference (CEI), is Pope Francis's peace envoy on the Ukraine
