(ANSA) - Rome, April 28 - Teachers who read teenage students an excerpt from an explicit gay sex novel at one of Rome's most traditional lycèes have been denounced for allegedly corrupting minors after parents took umbrage, authorities said Monday.
The storm erupted after teachers at the Liceo Giulio Cesare school read pupils excerpts in class from Melania Mazzucco's novel "Sei come sei" (You are as you are) including a gay sex scene in a changing room.
"The pupils in question are aged from 14 to 16," said the denunciation.
"The use of overtly obscene material can only be offensive to the average person, especially if one considers that this was aimed at a public of minors".
