(ANSA) - Rome, March 9 - Two tourists from California, ages
21 and 25, carved their initials on a second-floor western side
brick wall of the Colosseum with a coin, and then took a selfie
to record the moment for posterity last Friday.
A tour guide spotted the act of vandalism and called
police, who took the girls in for questioning and cited them for
"aggravated damage to a building of historic or artistic
interest".
