(ANSA) - Patti, October 9 - Four asylum seekers whose bodies
were recovered off the coast of Libya on July 28 were buried
Friday in the cemetery of the town of Patti, about an hour west
of Messina.
The caskets had been at the Messina municipal cemetery
since July 29, where they were brought aboard an Irish ship
which picked them up on a crowded boat of refugees, along with
453 survivors.
Twelve other bodies were transferred to the cemetery in the
town of Forza d'Agrò.
The Messina prefecture asked mayors in the province to bury
the bodies of migrants in their towns.
