Sicilian TV host probed for extortion

(ANSA) - Palermo, May 4 - The owner and host of a Sicilian local TV station known for fighting the Mafia has been placed under investigation for allegedly extorting money from local officials with threats that his campaigns would get them sacked.
    "If they don't do what I say I'll send them packing," Telejato director Pino Maniaci is heard saying in a police wiretap.
