(ANSA) - London, June 24 - Italy's consulate in London
received 31 requests for Italian citizenship from disgruntled
British voters Friday, one day after a majority of their fellows
voted in favor of Britain leaving the European Union.
"In light of the horrible decision taken by my country to
leave the European Union I would like to request Italian
citizenship," read one of the 31 applications, from an
individual whose mother is Italian.
The Italian consulate in Edinburgh has received four such
requests so far.
