(ANSA) - Siena, September 7 - The Siena flying squad said
Wednesday it has arrested three serial robbery suspects in a
week-long string of heists in Tuscany in March this year.
The three Rome natives aged 33, 38, and 39 netted a total
of 2,500 euros by robbing banks, jewelry stores, and pharmacies.
They also stole at least one car and one motorcycle, police
said.
Two of the three are already behind bars since they were
caught in the act of robbing a jewelry store in the Rome-area
village of Villalba. The store owner was shot and wounded in the
course of that heist.
The three were identified from surveillance camera footage,
a palm print left on a stolen motorcycle they used for getaways,
and also because they checked in to hotels in between heists.
