(ANSA) - Aosta, February 26 - An Italian mountain climber
trying the winter ascent of Himalayan peak Nanga Parbat in
Pakistan has not been heard from in 48 hours, sources said
Tuesday.
Daniele Nardi is taking a new route up the world's ninth
highest mountain, along the Mummery Spur.
Briton Tom Ballard is with him.
Nardi last called his wife from camp four at around 6,000
metres up on Sunday.
The expedition staff said the lack of communications may be
due to bad weather or phone batteries running out.
