(ANSAmed) - BEIRUT, JANUARY 8 - Lebanon will receive the
first doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech anti-covid vaccine by the
first half of February and will begin a free vaccination
campaign of the Lebanese people, said outgoing Lebanese Health
Minister Hamad Hassan on Friday.
Hassan also reassured public opinion on the fact that despite
Lebanon's financial default, caused by the worst economic crisis
in the past 30 years, the World Bank gave Lebanon a credit to
buy the doses developed by the US and German companies.
"It will be distributed in a free and fair manner," Hassan
said.
Starting Thursday, Lebanon once again entered a near-total
lockdown that will last about one month due to the growing
number of positive cases and the number of people currently
hospitalised. (ANSAmed).
