(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 14 - Catania airport was closed Tuesday as
Etna belched a kilometre-high column of ash into the sky above
Europe's tallest active volcano.
The ash was spread southwest towards Catania by a strong wind.
It is the latest 'paroxysm' of Strombolian activity by the
volcano, vulcanologists said. (ANSA).
