(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 15 - On Wednesday the obligation for all
school staff, firefighters and police officers in Italy to be
vaccinated for COVID-19 came into force.
Up to now it had been possible for these groups of workers to
continue doing their jobs if they did not want to have the COVID
jab by having coronavirus tests every few days to obtain a
short-term Green Pass health certificate.
Workers in these sectors who refuse to get vaccinated will now
be suspended and police offices will have to turn in their guns.
The COVID-19 vaccine was already mandatory for health workers
and people employed in care homes. (ANSA).
