(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 4 - A prison deputy inspector has been
suspended for six months for obstructing justice after allegedly
threatening and beating inmates to testify in his favour in a
trial for violence inflicted on prisoners in a jail near Naples
in 2020 to punish them for rioting, judicial sources said
Friday.
The officer, who was not named, was allegedly part of a brutal
punitive raid in the prison at Santa Maria Capua Vetere near
Caserta on April 6, 2020. (ANSA).
