(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 14 - An Italian girl dies after being
thrown off a fairground ride on her 15th birthday near Novara on
Saturday night.
The girl, Ludovica Visciglia, from Trecate, died in the centre
of nearby Galliate, a town with 15,000 inhabitants seven
kilometres from Novara.
She fell out of a Tagadà, a spinning 'waltzer' machine, due to
mechanical failure or human error, police said.
She was rushed to Maggiore Hospital in Novara where she died on
Sunday morning.
The owner of the rise has been placed under investigation for
possible culpable manslaughter, as has his son who was operating
the ride.
Minors' prosecutors are investigating.
Galliate Mayor Davide Ferrari said "it's a tragedy, I have no
words". (ANSA).
