(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 25 - A man who was acquitted of murdering
his wife because he was in the grip of a jealous fit that made
him mentally incapacitated now faces 21 years in jail on appeal
if a prosecutor's request is upheld.
Antonio Gozzini, 81, killed his wife, teacher Cristina Maioli,
in October 2019 and was acquitted by a first instance court
after defence and prosecution experts found that he had been
affected by a "delirium" caused by finding out she had been
unfaithful to him.
