(ANSA) - ROME, APR 6 - A nine-year-old girl was crushed to
death by her home's gate near Bergamo Tuesday evening, sources
said Wednesday.
The girl, Federica Bena, was reportedly playing on a slide in
the garden when the gate collapsed onto her after a pin fell
out.
The accident happened at Trescore Balneario, on a hillside road
that leads to the nearby village of Cenate Sopra.
The girl was immediately taken in a critical condition to
Bergamo's Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital where she died last
night.
Carabinieri are trying to establish exactly what happened.
An autopsy has been ordered. (ANSA).
