Temperatures to rise to 25 degrees C then drop off on Labour Day

(ANSA) - ROME, APR 27 - Italy will enjoy a warm and sunny spell of weather until Labour Day on Sunday May 1 when cooler air and a North African vortex will bring temperatures down, forecasters said Wednesday.
The high-pressure zone currently over Italy will spell a few days of steadily warm weather, with sun returning to the north of the country too, they said.
At the end of April, they observed, the sun sets after 19:30 on all Italian cities and there will therefore be more time to heat up the atmosphere.
Over the next few days, forecasters said, temperatures will rise in much of the country, both highs and lows, thanks to the sunnier conditions.
Temperatures in the north, however, will still be slightly below seasonal averages, while they will be slightly above in the south.
In the Po Valley, daytime temps could go as high as 24°C, as well as in Pavia, Milan, Mantua, and a few degrees higher in the valleys of Alto Adige, such as Bolzano, where the mercury may rise to 26°C.
It will be the same in central Tyrrhenian regions where Florence and Rome will touch 25°C, while it will be less hot on the Adriatic coasts which will be hit by cooler winds from the Balkans.
Temperatures will be slightly above average in the south where they will reach 25°C in Sicily, much of Puglia, the Ionian coasts of Basilicata and northern Campania. (ANSA).
