(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 25 - Postal police are investigating
reports that Italy's tax agency, l'Agenzia delle Entrate, has
been the victim of a cyber attack in which around 78 giga of
data were stolen, sources said on Monday.
The attack was reportedly staged by LockBit, an international
group of ransomware hackers.
Swascan, an IT security firm, said LockBit announced on the
darkweb that it had given the inland-revenue agency five days to
pay a ransom or see the stolen documents published.
L'Agenzia delle Entrate said Monday that it has asked Italy's
SOGEI IT agency to look into the reports. (ANSA).
