(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 12 - Standard and Poor's said Wednesday
that a protracted Russia-Ukraine war and a consequent deepening
of the energy crisis could push Italy's GDP down to -1.5% next
year.
Germany could take an even bigger hit with negative growth of
3.4%, said the US ratings agency.
These results compare to a base scenario currently showing 0.1%
negative growth for Italy and 0.3% negative growth for Germany
in 2023.
"The risks of a deep recession are increasing," said S&P.
