(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 28 - One person is dead and four people
are seriously injured after a man reportedly suffering from
mental-health problems went on a stabbing spree in a supermarket
in Assago, near Milan, on Thursday.
The victim is a 30-year-old employee of the Carrefour
supermarket.
Serie A side Monza's Spanish defender Pablo Marì is one of the
people to have been injured in the attack.
The 29-year-old centre-back., who is on loan from Arsenal, was
stabbed in the back while shopping with his wife and son.
He is being treated at Milan's Niguarda hospital and is set to
undergo surgery on Friday.
Monza Director Adriano Galliani said Thursday that he was not in
a life-threatening condition.
The 46-year-old assailant reportedly grabbed a knife that was on
sale at the supermarket and started to attack people.
He faces charges of homicide and attempted mass homicide.
