(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 7 - Italian police on Wednesday arrested
12 local people in Verona suspected of attacking revelling
Moroccan fans feting their historic World Cup win over Spain by
hitting their cars with chains and sticks, causing huge damage
and several injuries including a woman who was slightly hurt by
the shards of broken windows.
The dozen people have been charged with damaging property and
injuring people after their violent assaults on the fans'
vehicles that were driving around the centre of the Veneto city
after Morocco qualified for the World Cup quarter-finals for the
first time with a victory over 2010 world champs Spain after
penalties.
