(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 3 - The geopolitical tension sparked by
the war in Ukraine has had "significant reverberations" on
cybersecurity with "massive campaigns" at the international
level targetting critical infrastructure, financial systems and
other businesses, the postal police's CNAIPIC information
security agency said in a report on Tuesday.
The agency said these attacks included phishing, malware and
disinformation.
It said it detected 12,947 cyberattacks in Italy in 2022, a rise
of 138% on the 5,435 registered in 2021.
It said 332 people were put under investigation in relation to
these attacks, an increase of 78% with respect to the previous
year.
It added that 113,226 alerts were issued last year, an increase
of 2% with respect to 2021. (ANSA).
